The distillation and aging process takes place in the Caribbean where the rum matures in oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years before it is carbon filtered and carefully blended by hand. The result is hints of cocoa and fruit on the nose with a sweet and delicate finish in the mouth.

The NZ Rum Co's '55' Overproof Rum is a big punchy un-aged rum with slight vegetal & fruit notes behind big rum notes and subtle funk. This has won a gold medal in two consecutive years and in 2024 won best in class (Overproof) and Best New Zealand Made Rum!
