First released in 1959, Penfolds Bin 28 has long been a benchmark for warm-climate Australian Shiraz. Originally sourced from the famed Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley, it has since evolved into a multi-region blend that remains firmly anchored by Barossa fruit, delivering the rich character and consistency that have defined the wine for generations. The 2021 vintage is full-bodied and generous, layering ripe blackberry and plum with notes of mocha, dark chocolate, espresso and liquorice. Hints of dried herbs and savoury spice add depth, while fine, graphite-like tannins provide structure and carry the wine through a long, mineral-edged finish. A classic Penfolds Shiraz, built to impress now and reward careful cellaring through to 2050.
