Crafted exclusively in first-fill and refill American and European oak casks sourced from Jerez, Spain. On the nose, it opens with inviting notes of iced cinnamon rolls, orange sweets, and raisins over fresh oak. The palate is smooth and generous, unfolding layers of banana, berry jam, and malt biscuit wrapped in classic sherry richness, before leading into a long, balanced finish of dried fruit, gentle spice, and soft Scottish tablet, with a subtle whisper of peat smoke at the close.

Tamnavulin Double Cask is the perfect introduction to their signature Speyside single malt whiskies: sweet, smooth and fruity, with notes of orchard fruits, creamy toffee and Crème Brûlée. Like all Tamnavulin, this whisky starts life in American ex-bourbon casks, adding smoothness to their sweet, fruity spirit. Then, when the time is right, the whisky is finished in seasoned sherry casks. Amber gold in the glass, where rich, warm aromas of apple, toffee and honey with sweet marzipan and subtle tangy marmalade notes meet the nose. On the palate fresh, mellow with pear creamy peaches and pineapple and a hint of Demerara sugar.

To create The Balvenie PortWood 21 year old single malt whisky, a marriage of rare Balvenie is transferred to port casks, or pipes, which have held fine port wines. Here it is sampled regularly by The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE to ensure that just the right amount of character is imparted by the port casks, enhancing and developing the single malt whilst preserving its original characteristics.
